Great news! We’re bringing our latest show Won’t Be Told across Ireland this May as part of the Bealtaine Festival, a national celebration of creativity in older age.
Presented by Age & Opportunity, Bealtaine has been running since 1995 and is one of the largest festivals of its kind in Europe. Taking place throughout the month of May, it brings together artists, organisations and communities across Ireland to explore ageing through performance, visual art, music and participatory events. The programme spans theatres, public spaces and community settings, with a focus on access, visibility and creative expression at every stage of life.
Won’t Be Told is performed by Ken and Tina, founders of Tumble Circus, and centres on the experience of continuing to create, perform and push physical limits over time. Blending high-level circus skills with a deliberately chaotic energy, the show combines acrobatics, juggling and comedy into a performance that resists the idea of fading into the background.
Annoying, talented, and stubbornly skilled, Ken and Tina present a rebellious circus adventure that pushes back against expectations. Their world is packed with wild acrobatics, absurd juggling, and physical comedy, all delivered with a determination to keep going, keep performing, and keep challenging what audiences expect from both circus and ageing bodies.
As part of the Bealtaine programme, Won’t Be Told will be performed in a wide range of settings, including public squares, arts venues and community-based locations. This approach brings the work directly into different environments and audiences, reflecting the festival’s wider aim of making art visible and accessible across everyday spaces.
